That's too drastic. If we remove any activity involving a risk, then we have very little or nothing to do in our life. This includes sex.

For those who are new to batam, or don't know much about this place, I recommend not to go for FL or WeChat gals. You never know what they can do to you or frame you with drugs( in cohort w police) to scam money from you


As for scammers, can always get someone to sort out with them, if their so call boy Friend comes along to demand for money. If you know who to call for help when such things happens. Don't ask me who I call. This is private contacts for such things

Yes. I don't leave anyone wandering around my room without having a discreet eye on her.

I trust my good judgement (see footnote *). This girl is NOT a FL. She was simply genuinely interested to become friend of a foreigner. She is a good girl, student at the (a?) local university. I would have been really surprised to see her trying to steal something! Not that type of person (ok, nothing is impossible, but as I wrote before, we must learn to live with small-probability events).

How do I know? I trust my introspection ability into people. Mistakes are possible, but we must work and improve to make them rare.

About helping with luggage, that was my idea to find a reason to invite her to my room without saying "I want to fuck". That does not sound nice on a first date.
We agreed to meet at JCo just for few minutes before I had to leave, just to see each other. Then, I tried to suggest "I really cannot stay with you more than 10 minutes because I have to pack my luggage. If you want, you can follow me to my room to help me with it". She did not think a second and replied "ok I don't want the coffee let's go you have no time".
Once in the room, she did not comment the fact that my luggage was almost completely packed already . Not much help needed on that.

Of course she is NOT a working lady!! That was clear to me since the first messages on WeChat. A working lady makes clear since the first messages that she offers ST/BO (these are the hardcore pros) or at least that she needs money for something.
This simply wanted a new friend.
About money, in Indonesia this has a different perception than in Western world (I cannot judge about other Asian countries).
No girl in Europe would EVER ask money after or before meeting someone, or she would fall into the category of prostitute (social stigma). In Indonesia, it is perfectly common that a lady welcomes a monetary gift from some foreigner, and she does not see that as something diminishing her reputation.

I realize I am becoming maybe too much confident on others. I wrote before that one of my highlights of my holidays, 10 days ago, was the night I spent with THREE girls: my friend, with whom I already spent 3-4 nights since when I met her first one year ago, and two friends of hers, who she kindly invited with us to make me happy (very happy indeed).
Well, after dinner I wanted to have some free 15-20 mins for me (call home, withdraw money from ATM,...), so I gave them my room key and I told them to go and wait me there. Since I am not a light weekend traveler and in my room I have my computer and personal stuff, plus various gifts to bring home, that means 101% trust. The irony was that my key did not work, and when I came back I found them at the reception where they already got it renewed by staff (I wonder if this is the usual policy for a hotel ).
No, I don't think I will do that again, and certainly not if I don't have long time of acquaintance with someone.

That's a serious problem. Scammers can be anywhere. Although not so common, any of us WILL meet some sooner or later. NOBODY should feel immune. Shit happens.

It happened to me too! Unfortunately for me, I don't have a local hook as you to call for support in case of need.

I remember those two 30+ yo ladies who came to my room from disco several years ago (sorry, I still had to learn to discriminate well people, and anyone can make mistakes).
They started first to play silly (red flag warning: at that point I knew I would have not had any good time) then tried to threaten with arguments like "you give us 1.5 millions to each of us or we call police because we have friends in police".
I laughed back to them saying that me too I have some friends working in police, then I got them out of the room showing 100k as a "tip for your taxi". They were lured by the 100k out of the room.... So mean.
Once out of the door, the problem was solved, seen from my perspective. I closed quickly the door and left them there in the corridor while I took the stairs to go down. I said bye I go and that was it. I really felt relieved.
