Maybe because thai fair skin looked like chinese. Dun look local therefore they will be more hesitant to stop the girl.

There is one way to bypass this "joiner fee" nonsense:

First, always book for dual occupancy or in my case, always inform front desk that your lady friends in BKK may be joining you from time to time for the duration of your stay, and under no circumstances are they to be embarrassed. I usually tell this to the duty manager for the day. Second, make sure your girl doesn't enter the hotel looking like a hooker...u know, like Ah Lian...all colorful with platform shoes...hehe. Jeans and T-Shirt or a normal dress sans gaudy make-up will be ideal.

Lastly, its all about attitude. The Thais are just about the most promiscuous people in the world. Enjoying a good session of sex is just like enjoying a good meal to them. I'd like to see the night manager or doorman harass a Thai businessman when he is bringing his "midnite dessert" through the hotel door. The "joiner fee" thing is actually designed for farangs, we are not farangs (mostly, no offense to our westerner bros). We are asians and members of the ASEAN community. In other words, we should have the attitude that the joiner fee thing absolutely does not apply to us. Case in point: I stay at the Sheraton Grande Sukhomvit quite often, although the Merchant Court is my favourite (due to a certain "suay pu-ying" at the front desk). I bring MP girls in all the time, mostly past 2am when we are done drinking and partying and eating. I never been harrassed by the graveyard shift staff. I do get this "I hope u have a good time" smile though. Once I was stopped at the elevator by a hotel staff at the sheraton, who asked me who the lady with me was and I just glared at him and asked him what he meant, he smiled and mumbled "mai pen rai" and that was that.

Remember that its all about face and attitude. Walk straight and walk tall, treat the girl like she was your lover (which she is, for the moment ) and you will be spared the harrassment. So the first and second conditions apply, don't cause them to lose face and they won't cause you to lose face. Finally, remember, in LOS BKK/HDY,TBHT100 goes a long way when used correctly. To be honest, I only stay in 5-star hotels when I have to in BKK (business reasons, face, etc.). I very much prefer the simpler and "girl-friendly" hotels on the Ratchada stretch. Its more relaxed, closer to the food and the action and no horrendous traffic problems to deal with. Now that BTS has arrived in that area, its even better.

Read in some angmos sites that booking for 2 will not work all the time (farangs or not), since dont they ask for girls ID? and is it not recommended her ID SHOULD be left with the desk so can track down if anything happens. Heard stories some will drug U and then steal U blind? just from what I read. Then could spend extra for double room and end up paying even more (extra add on nite fees)in the end.

There is no way booking double will help you avoid the joiner fee if you do things that show them obviously that your girl is a joiner e.g.

leaving ID at front desk.

Double will only work if you act as if the girl is your normal partner and registered with front desk. That is why I recommend giving them some odd nickname and going as far as to complain (to reception in the morning by phone) that the doormen/elevator guard is harassing and embarassing your partner when you go back in the night.

Of course, treating them (the security/elevator people) nice with a tip is also good to develop a "closed eye".

Some years back, some funny incident to my friends when we stayed at The Emerald.

My friend registered his gf name as the partner in his room. But somehow they had a "clash" and they seem to have parted.

Two nights later, my friend and i went to a KTV and both of us brought a gal back each. Stop by the securities, we 'll made to sign a "joiner" fee slip at the reception. They also kept the gals' ID.

But when my friend opened his door, his gf and another friends were already in the room waiting for him. That caused quite a "commotion"....Fortunately it was settled without much fuss.

Subsequently, i went to question the reception on why they collect joiner fee from my friend when they knew that my friend's lady partner has entered the room. Not card ket then...key has to be taken fm the reception... In fact, they should have "warned" us..... The answers i received was some BS ignorances due to changing of shifts......

So ...we got to be careful of "that part" if we will to register a lady partner.

Can anybody advice.


me going up state on the last week of Feb for more fun. since the last time I enjoyed myself when I book girl for overnight , would like to do it again. But last time stayed in girl friendly place, so no problem with joiner fee. but not this time.

So if get MP girl to come over to hotel room by herself after she knock off from work, after 12 midnight, will hotel staff stop her? will they then charge joiner fee since they will ask her for room number?
