I understand Malaysians can only stay in Singapore for a maximum of 14 days on social pass before they have to go back.Can she just go back to the woodland checkpoint and get a chop every two weeks for as long as she can?Is there any form of way in which i can act as a guarantor that i am able to look after her while she is finding a job in Singapore for a few months(worst case scenario). I believe it is not easy finding a job as a Pharmacist when you are a malaysian without any work permit or PR even though the degree is a recognised one from Australia and i don' think anyone will respond to her if she tired to apply for a job in Singapore while still studying in Australia.

One year is not a long time..i just want her her to have a smooth transition to Singapore because she is going to give up her dream of establishing a career in Australia just to be with me.

Would really appreciate brothers for any feedback and ideas.Im at my wits end.

I hav a suggestion for u ... get your gf to go back to Msia while both of you try to secure a job for her here in Spore ...

at least den u dun hav to travel all the way downunder to meet her ...

another way would be to ROM first, postpone the customaries until later ...

other ways I not so sure ... u may hav to ask other bros here ... I heard tat you can help her stay in Spore longer (maybe months) if you enter your name as her fiance or someting like tat ... not very sure so can't help u here ...

malaysian can enter every 14 days,and can do like that for at least 3 month..so no need worry she cant enter after 14 days..if haven ROM,she no need PR to apply job,malaysian can look for job here..if ROM liao,that i dont know..

He already said in 1 yr time then graduate....so nothing got to do "without cert"

The point is whether she can work in singapore or not...I think she can look for a job in singapore...then her company will apply the neccesary permit for her to stay and work in singapore....

ROM liao then different story....need apply LTSV to stay in Singapore and want to work is another story...still need apply...but ROM liao and get PR later on then everything np liao....

Dont know above information right or not....but that what i think...

5-6 mths? That's impossible. You are not even allowed to look for jobs while holding a STSVP or a social visa.

Sometimes, you are not even allow to get a quick ticket for a re-entering, it's all depend by the officer's attending to you. Some may get lucky for another 10-14 days.... Case By Case basis.

look for job can right? but when the company offer u the job...u cant work becos no permit....so company apply work permit for u ?

i tot u need to find job first..then u can apply for work permit.i don't think u can get a work permit and then find a job..or else everywhere is flooded with people with work permit and no job

for malaysian,they come here look job,then company apply work permit,or EP or whatever passs for them...they all come here with social visit pass 14 days..when apply,wait at jb until the company call them lar..them come here for interview,apply permit,and after get permit can start work..

hi, need help.
my gf already went back china after contract end,
as read from this thread, we went to MOM to get approver for marry,
the counter official give us a form and ask us to fill up and send back to MOM,
we fill up the form and send attached wiht the required documents.
after 1 week plus, we receive a letter from MOM stating that no need to get approver from MOM, just need to file a notice to marry in ROM will do.
all the documents we had sent are return back to us including the form. ?????
we didn't go to ROM after that.

as now she is in China, what should i do to bring her over here ?
she apply visa in china and visit here, after that we go ROM, after that i apply LTSVP for her to stay here ?
or i apply visa for her here ?

what documents or certifcate should she bring over here beside her "bu koa ben " ?

all the certs need to translate in English ? can all the translation made in singapore ? because she dunno where to get the certs translated in Tianjin, china.

Before that maybe you should give more details....like your wife-to-be is a work permit holder previously?
Also try to read from page 1 to last page...I believe there is alot of informations u can get pertaining to China girl....

as for the certs....ask her to ask around...instead of just saying dont know...I think it is cheaper to translated and certified there....heard from SingViet....certification(each Stamp on paper) is about $60?

Ask for the officer's name and title, in case anything happens.

But before you file your ROM in Singapore, make sure she need to bring her birth certificate, identity card, if any, and household booklet. For more additional stuff like edu. certs, please be ready, which will be required for future use. Is she born in TainJin? Your gerfrd shld get the translation done in tianjin notary office.

Please be informed that the Earliest Solemnisation Date is 15 Mar 2007 from next wednesday onwards.
