I think it is a matter of time the AV will close the affected shops. And these china mei mei are not stupid, they should know by now and they may just evacuate to their so called "other base". Well, the management can only say the units belong to the individual owners and they have no jurisdiction.

They also told me that they go by the book, get licenses that can cost them S$2000 over (FSB, CID, URA etc), the therapists go for medical screening, but when they apply for permits, they encounter interesting issues with the management who are extremely strict with the legal joints. Whereas for the illegal joints, they just open as and when they want! What you see in fortune centre is proven.

I walk around the building. Out of the 18 or more massage establishments, only about 11 are either Cat 2 or exempted massage establishment. These are safe joints. Those with the license have the license paper hung up high on the wall.

But me as a tenant on the upper floors office block, I feel that as long as these china babies do not become a nuisance, stay within their unit and do their stuff, we are basically fine, rather than risk having many units empty in level 3 and 4 and end up like a ghost town.
