New Visa Requirement To China

bro, try to use the travel agency.. my company agent settle everything. they can produce some doc to the embassy..just pay additional $10.00.

me just back from shanghai after arriving on 1st july morning ...

at the immigration counter, the officer will strike the visa permit with a pen thus u can only used the visa once u crossed the border ...
unlike in the past, they will just take a look at the visa permit ..
thought the visa permit valid for 60 days .. it's only valid for one entry ..
i notice that the PRC immigration officers will asked questions to visitors of non-chinese look ..
the chio PRC immigration offciers neber asked me anything ...
was hoping she asked for my phone number ...

i'm not sure abt multiple entry cos my travel agent says it cannot be done now ...
anyway .. i just submit my application to them for my coming CP/CA/ZH trip ...

my advise ... pay them a fee and let them do all the leg works, queue and paper work ...
i heard it's chaotic at the china embassy ... long queue and everyone seems lost ...
any bro can verify this information ....

Yeap, long queue at Chinese Embassy for individuals applying visa by themselves. Better off spending additional $10 and ask travel agent to so it. Can anyone advise which travel agent can be "helpful" in this regard??

just go peoples park complex
most of the travel agents will do it for 10/15$ on top of the 25$ for the visa
just bring them yr ticket and hotel booking

hotel booking, just do it on any chinese hotel site
they will send u confo on email
no need for credit card info/prepayment etc
i.e. dont have to go to the hotel that u book --no penalty

ps. takes about 4/5 days for visa....allow for it

save u a lot of trouble and time ...

have ur air ticket, hotel booking confirmation letter, a recent passport photo ready ...
u just need to fill in some of the information and ur signature on the visa application form and they'll take care the rest for u ...

As for the Visa, i've found a travel agent that only required yr passport & photo...no need hotel booking or air tix butu need to pay them $15 admin fee on top of the visa fee...so easy...

As of July 1st, there are new rules going into effect regarding the registration of foreigners in China. Dezan Shira & Associates, Foreign Direct Investment Into China provided an article detailing the new guidelines that we have listed below:

Guests staying in Hotels and Serviced Apartments

Guests must be registered upon arrival with the PSB by the hotel and
if separate, serviced apartment management company. Usually this
procedure is automatic with input from the hotel being directly fed
into the local PSB computer at the check-in procedure, with no
additional action being required from the guest. However, daily checks
are now in operation with the PSB physically visiting hotels to
request copies of the hotels in-house guest list to make sure they
match the PSB's own records. If they do not, the hotel / serviced
apartment will be fined RMB5,000 per missing entry. Hotel guests under
these circumstances would not be fined. However it does mean that
foreigners wishing to stay at an hotel in China must provide full
passport and visa credentials in order to check in.

Expatriate Employees Living In Private Apartments

The apartment management company should be contacting foreign tenants
/ residents and requiring them to register with the local PSB. If this
is not done, both the management company and the foreigner can be
fined RMB5,000. It is important to note that this rule applies to any
foreign person living in any apartment or private dwelling - even if
it is for just for one night. If staying overnight or visiting friends
in China, registration must be carried out upon arrival with the local
PSB office responsible for the area within 24 hours of arrival.

We strongly recommend all expatriate personnel living in apartments in
China register with the local PSB prior to July 1st to avoid problems.
