wow, today coffeeshop talk is very interesting. My colleagues and myself were at the 1st floor 4 season cafe drinking coffee and it seems everyone knows that there was a big big raid on the china mei mei today.

Rumours is that all the massage parlours were "visited" by the plain clothes AV and the shops were checked for licenses. Those shops with licenses not affected and continued to operate.

The 4th floor china mei mei shops all busted. It was heard that photographers were snapping at the interior of the busted shops. Now, no more "little red bean" and no more catcalls from the corner shop near the lift. 3rd floor shop also shut.

Life back to the clean old days without the china mei meis. In a way, safer to cheong in fortune centre now. Damn, should have gotten their numbers before they are busted. Got a few I haven't try before.

And I really miss their catcalls. Meow.

Read in ST Forum there is one guy who is on a mission to expose all the china mei mei tuina joints in FC. Each time a new one opens he will pass all the details to AV. Not sure if the recent raids in FC is becos of that.

Heard from one bro that GL also kanna lots of raids recently. Some china mei mei were caught at the buget hotels in GL, so I was told to avoid the area. Can anyone enlighten how does AV raid hotels? Thot it will be safer than health joints.

Basically AV officers like any policemen on duty have search warrants that entitle them to conduct raids, and open up doors for inspection. That's why they have the right to visit any shop, including hotels and demand to check licenses or the presence of illicit activities (which include not just sex but drug taking etc). If you are caught on location doing any of these, then of course the officers reserve the right to detain you for investigation purposes. Under remand, you will be questioned, but alot of times, in the case of sexual activities, the officers will be looking for info to convict the WL. If you cooperate, you should be fine (that means confess that some activity did go on), although under the law, the solicitor and the solicited will both face consequences.

Bottom line is, AV knows exactly what's happening on the ground. They send feelers out everyday, and what has happened to Fortune Centre and Geylang is not the direct result of the complainant's actions on the forum. It seems too much of a coincidence that his complaints have led to such operations. AV does act on tip offs, but I assure you they themselves had been monitoring Fortune Centre and the like for some time before they swung into action.

Actually, hotels in hot spots could be more dangerous than health joints in hot spots

When anyone books for transit hours in hotel, your NRIC is scanned into hotel system. When AV come, they will use the hotel system and CCTV to flush out the lists of rooms to raid and one by one they will bang into the room.

Did recce yesterday. Only licensed massage joints are open. All other PRC operated ones are closed. Looks like will not be seeing action for quite some time.

If the massage establishment is defined as "open concept" (without partition), they apply for "exempted massage establishment" letter from CID, as told by my friend who operates a foot reflex shop in Bukit Timah. For such shops, the glass panels must be transparent and can see what happen inside. Even the curtains have restriction, must be able to see the calf and shoulder of the therapists. Hence, if the therapists do hanky panky, people from outside can see (ie therapist undress or whole body missing...on the bed)

For those who have the massage license, they can have partitions and rooms but cannot have doors that can be locked. You can check these info in spf website. BY right, they must record certain details of the clients like name, NRIC (in case of underage).

Nonetheless, safer to cheong in licensed shops.

AV, give and take lah. I feel that as long as they do not stand in the corridor pull customers, it is OK lor. Orchard towers is worst. Just because it is a tourist area, they should not have that "give and take" treatment. Don;t forget IBIZ hotel next door is opening soon, and there will be lots of tourists to fortune centre.

Either you send them home or else give them "green cards" to do other jobs here while they await their white card sentence. What else can they do? They go coffee shop be beer babes but risk getting caught by MOM.

Hmmm, how about open a rehabilitation centre for WL, to teach them new skills and send them back when their cases are over? I am sure China will be grateful to you.

Frankly, when all the china mei mei shops are closed, fortune centre is like a dead city. We felt it. Scary.

They were raided just on Monday and were still closed on Thursday.

Don't think they would re-open so soon.
