Just my own thoughts.

to me the current mm rate is literally daylight robbery
xi jinping 's grip on power is very solid, i doubt he will change course
there is no turning back for him
we will have to wait for the next china leader when xi's presidency ends in 2023
many chinamen are now playing places like japan, south korea and vietnam instead of their home country
in fact when the feb 2014 vice raid first started in dongguan i was still in a hotel in henan province watching porn on my computer hahaha

Even if 2023 u probably won't see changes, as after 10 yrs, the top level already cleanses & use to the style of governing.. Next leader taking over will not want implement desperate changes (Frankly, What Xi have did is consider Right Things to do..to implement Right Things, under circumstance which already ruin, take courage & support. To me...we may not have the patience to wait ten years to see what's coming!
Simply move on, find another country, another place to cheong, forget about what CP have offered in the past. The place is gone liao. even when the Metro starts passing by, what can we expect? Nothing actually..without the attracting Service industries, CP is jus another small town with rail & metro only. I see others looking forward to the metro, but even when u able to travel there, are U going to stay there, for long? look at S'pore, U have MRT travel to YewTee, but when is the last time we go there? For me, I never been to thats station in my whole life till now

To us, its mostly about the 'attraction' & what CP have been offering, its not about the convenience of travel (at least not entirely). It would be better to stay SZ, if the 'attraction' is gone..

Jus to share...going CP, today, we can only see selected few footie massage like PZL, QZG, Lucky etc...but going SZ, esp. Central, lohu area, u can see a massage ctr almost every 200m or less

yes well said shenzhen is excellent for
1) visa runs
2)during winter it is not as cold as north china
3) it has good metro and transport
3) food stall is available 24 hours a
day
4) for malaysians and singaporeans it is nearer to home than say beijing or shanghai

I like Shenzhen a lot too.
Airport and Metro Stations at your door step.
You can even take Metro Train to cheong KTVs!

Although Shenzhen is a Tier 1 City there're also many places with reasonable priced restaurants.

The Changping Metro Train is only beneficial for residents like me who need to go to nearby towns/cities.

Yes I agree there must be some selling point otherwise it will just be another sleepy town.

Maybe can use bro MichaelWinn's proposal to real estate developers to modify Changping into an Ah Pek retirement village for Malaysians/Singaporeans!

In Thailand u can get 2-3MM/gals, for what u paying for in China...There are also other places which is also cheap. For those whom looking to "Fxxx'..there are better places out there than China, than CP; so long as u don't mind e language & skin (I guess those whom reading tis forum, are English Educated, even if abit..should have no problem venturing to those places.

MayB one day your grandson may ask "GongGong, have u been to China? Is it fun?...& u tell them story of "Once Upon a Time" there lives a small town off SZ, where guys like 'u' and others live & stay happy ever...after...."

Personally, I'm lucky enough to have experienced 5 golden years of CP from 2009 to now and still be in my 20's

It's really a shame but I pretty much have given up hope that it will ever return to its peak. The days of massive parties with friends is just not the same as it was in CP. It had such a good location in terms of proximity to HK and like someone else said.... world class amenities in a third world city.

Yes in the past Changping is one of the very few places where you can have a big party with friends without busting the bank.
Top it off with good location and a galore of amenities.
