Kenny Rogers Roasters @ Great World City
Rotisserie Chicken 4/5 The last time I visit Kenny Rogers Roasters was probably more than ten years back at the Suntec City branch. I still remember back then it was self service, one needed to order and pay at the counter before proceeding down the line to collect the food. Service has since changed. Your order is now taken by the waiter/waitress and the food is being served to you. My partner and I ordered the Lucille ($41.90) which comes with half rotisserie chicken, half slab of honey bourbon ribs and a choice of 3 regular side dishes. The Rotisserie Chicken was surprisingly better some restaurants I have tried. The rotisserie chicken was roasted to perfection, the meat was juicy and tender. Honey Bourbon Ribs 4/5 The fell off the bone Honey Bourbon Ribs was simply finger licking good. The tender meat with the beautiful sauce worked in harmony for one of the better ribs I have eaten. Kenny Rogers Roasters has 14 different sides dishes on the menu categorized under hot and cold sides. For our choices of 3 sides, we opted for the Potato Salad, Macaroni & Cheese and Coleslaw. Among the three, my favourite was the macaroni & cheese. Not because it was the best but the potato salad was over dressed with mayonnaise while I didn't enjoy the onions in the coleslaw. Corn Muffin 4/5 Besides the signature rotisserie chicken at Kenny Rogers Roasters, the other memory I have is the Corn Muffin. Upon taking our orders, complimentary corn muffin was served. It definitely didn't disappoint me and it was still as good as before. Kenny Rogers Roasters has been around for more than 20 years and it just showed that they are still dishing out delectable food to their customers. Furthermore, the value for money pricing is a welcome venue for budget seeker, big families and friends gathering. Chin Mee Chin Confectionery @ East Coast Road
Located along East Coast Road at the corner of East Coast Road and Chapel Road, is this nostalgia old school confectionery with mosaic floor tiles and marbled top tables. The place has limited seating and it is rather hot and stuffy. For the first timer, ordering can be quite confusing. The couple of waiting staffs are so busy that it is rather hard to catch their attention. The tip is to just look for a sitting area, sit down and self service the pastries at the display cabinets. When you manage to catch the attention of the waiting staff, order your drinks and kaya buns. Upon your drinks and kaya buns are served, tell the waiting staff what pastries you have taken and he/she will write it down in a piece of white paper for you to pay at the cashier when you are done with your meal. Kaya Bun 4.2/5 I finally understand why all the ravings of Chin Mee Chin Kaya Bun after sinking my teeth into the Kaya Bun. The toasted bun with its crisp outer and fluffy inside, spreads with the fragant kaya was like marriage in heaven. Custard Egg Tart and Puff 4/5 If the kaya buns are not enough for you, help yourself to the differnt pastries that are made freshly from the oven everyday. Some of the popular pastries are the Custard Egg Tart and Custard Puff. Grab them while they are piping hot from the oven. They do run out quite fast. Re: looking for FB in 2013 (Food Buddy)
Cafe Epicurious @ The Rail Mall.
Located along the shorter stretch of shophouses along Upper Bukit Timah at the Rail Mall, Cafe Epicurious is at the greenery part of the vicinity facing the bukit timah railway bridge. Half of This and Half of That 4.2/5 I find it very thoughtful for Cafe Epicurious to offer the Half of This & Half of That ($16) on its menu for those that is indecisive. We went for the Green Egg & Ham and Egg Benedict combination. The green egg is exactly basil pesto scrambled egg . It came with prosciutto and topped with parmigiano reggiano. The basil pesto and pramigiano reggiano lifted the flavours of the moist and creamy scrambled eggs. The poached egg was cooked to perfection with the egg yolk oozing out. While the others felt that the hollandaise sauce was a tad sour, I actually liked that mild tang taste. However, I would preferred the sauce to be more rich and buttery. Baked Eggs with Toast Soldiers 4/5 The other egg dish available on the menu is the Baked Eggs with Toast Soldiers ($14). I have always wanted to try this way of enjoying egg, dipping the toast into the creamy and cheesy baked egg. I couldn't help to associate it with our local half boiled egg. Do I prefer the East or West way? I would have to say I prefer my soy sauce and pepper over cream and cheese. The baked eggs was good and I only blamed it that I am born with an Asian palate. French Toast 4.5/5 The French Toast ($8.50) came with 3 slices of raisin bread soaked thoroughly with egg and topped with chunks of strawberry and banana. The seared golden french toast was moist and fluffy. The french toast itself was already so awesome that I am happy to leave out the marmalade and maple syrup.

Re: looking for FB in 2013 (Food Buddy)
Epicurious Burger 4.8/5 The Epicurious Burger ($18) was voted as the top 10 burgers on IS Magazine caught my attention when I was browsing through the menu. I just had to jump to the opportunity to try out the freshly made burger. The patty was moist and juicy with a nice charred grilled aroma. Paired with the beautiful caramelised onions, bacon and cheese, this one big messy burger indeed was awesome. No wonder it made it to the top 10 burgers listing. H's Vietnamese Chicken Bolognaise 4.8/5 I am quite adventurous coming to food and I like to browse through the menu for unique dish offered by the restaurant. Most of us probably would have tried $$$$$ or chilli crab pasta but have you seen Vietnamese Chicken Bolognaise Pasta ($15) on the menu before? The flavours got my taste buds dancing in excitment when the new unique experience. The used of lemongrass, a probably a dash of lemon zest fusing with the tangy tomato sauce tasted were surprising a heavenly combination for the al dente pasta. Breakfast Parfait 4.2/5 For the sweet tooth, you would love the Breakfast Parfait ($7). The home-made granola layered with a generous amout of honeyed yourt and fruits came with abundance of sweetness that simply brightens up one's day. Cafe Epicurious The Rail Mall 392 Upper Bukit Timah Road Singapore 678046 Nearest MRT: Choa Chu Kang (NS Line), Bukit Batok (NS Line)

[QUOTE=RAMS75;8654961]if the dinner referred to was the curry fish head, *no*. Dinner was not cancelled - and we had a blast ~ after the dinner - went over to 717 for durian. brought the Kao Liang 58% which she would have opened for the group but seeing that it was just 3 of us (and myself and lady friend not intending to drink) - she kept that fine liquor for herself
