I am going to Shanghai for a b trip. Just wonder how tight is it in Shanghai as I learn that the security may be tighten and hotel may not allow non couple to stay in the same room. I just wonder whether it will be safe to invite a girl to a 5 star hotel for an overnight gathering?

Hi there,
Security here are still normal, not that they're implementing any curfew as yet in Shanghai.
However, with regards to your question on whether it would be safe to bring FL or any gal back to your hotel room, I would suggest that you exercise more cautions as being with the O' Games drawing so near around the corner, it is not worthy to be caught for prostitution. The Central Government is very particular of the image they're posing to the outside world, so they will crack down on all illegitimate activities as such.

As today's local radio news announced, they Central Government even banned all air flights taking off or landing in Beijing Capital Airport on the day of the O' Games Opening, 8 Aug 2008 just to prevent any possible terrorists attacks.

Rather be safe than sorry bro....have fun but play safe lah.
Go to a HC might be a better choice, and the HC is better to be located within a 4/5-star hotel (i.e. Holiday Inn HC on Changshou Road or Shanghai Hotel on Wulumuqi Road).
