Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Without a good winger, liverpool's attcking power is limited. All it depends is Gerard long shooting and Torees' one final touch. There is no coordination in this team as they overly rely on Torres and Gerard. Any one of them injured will jeopardise the whole team. Defending only got Caragher is not enough, as he don't have the staminal to chase after those attckers. Agger got height but got no brain, can't read the game that he is playing and anyhow mark those irelevant players. Shortage of one good right-back is also another reason why liverpool is at this stage. Its about time Rafa should leave the club as i see that he is no longer interested in his current job, moreover back at his hometown got other clubs interested in him joining them. With the current American owners holding the major shares, liverpool can hardly established further as i really doubt they can qualify for UEFA, not to say Champions League 2010/2011.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Well said.
As a genuine REDs fans, i like to see negative comments so as how we should improve. (Although we can always talk all day but it will NEVER be put into real management of the Reds) ...mostly towards the RB & Owners point Seen so many so-called REDs fans always like to stay positive & criticise those who keep pointing out the bad points & stick with what they have makes me always wonder how true are they

[QUOTE=Fire-Horse;4718036]I certainly hope Rafa learns his lesson and sticks with the Gerrard-Mascherano midfield pairing (barring injuries to them) from here on until the final game of the season!

Carra and another revealing remark about how we went wrong, which corroborates Rafa's recent statement:
"I just think at the start of the season we didn't do particularly well and then we realised we weren't going to be in the title race, which was what we had all built ourselves up for. "It was a disappointment at that early stage, whereas the other teams were excited about the prospect of getting into the top four. "Maybe it took us a while to get our heads around the fact that we wouldn't be playing for the title, but a top-four finish is vitally important now for next season and that's something we're certainly capable of." |

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
As todays England's team seems not to treasure their local players as much as the imported ones. Reserve team players and the youth player from the club academic school seems to have faded for the chance to perform at big stage. BPL clubs especially only consider to recruit overseas "talents" rather then sharpen their own local players. They even import these "talents" at a young age to train them before use at crucial time. What happen to all the trainers, coaches and the tacticians thinking? Are other country players can run faster, taller, stronger or cheaper than the locals? Well i don't know what to say about the criteria lay down by FIFA, why european clubs' seems to have more foreign players than their own local players that can play for their country during world cup. Is this situation healthy in the long term for Soccer???

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
I don't know what BPL will look like in 20 years' time.
The foreign investor interest surely can't be sustained and more than a few clubs will follow the way of Leeds and Pompey by over-spending. Chelsea are saying they are debt free - well, they will be revamping their ageing squad too and the Russian has got to fund that and start another cycle of indebtedness. |

1. He spends his own money. Didn't borrow from the bank or mortgage the club. A lot of subsequent owners got into trouble because they buy a lot with borrowed money. End up with huge interest repayments. 2. Win or lose, you can see him celebrating goals or looking depressed by the team's performances. Besides being an owner, he is clearly a fan of his team. Shows you he cares about this 'plaything' called Chelsea. When we saw Ian Rush and Phil Thomson's reaction to Torres missing his chance, you can feel a link to them as fans right? I want to see our owners being passionate about our team, like the fans are. The tv screen didn't capture Rafa's face when Torres scored that marvellous, unexpected goal against Sunderland. I wonder if it's possible for someone to be so involved in the team and not celebrate that goal. 3. We don't hear about him trying to build Chelsea up as a team, with the intention to sell the team for a huge profit in future. I can't say the same for our 2 idiots. They have sold some sports francise in America for profit right? Roman's not perfect but he is much better than Hicks and Gillett.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Agreed, football is about passion for the beautiful game. Roman is just one fine example. The two Texan monkeys are more interested in the green of the dollar than the red of Liverpool Football Club.
Liverpool was £40m in debt when Hicks and Gillett took the reins. Now that debt is fast approaching £300m mark. Why? You may ask, simple. The cost of buyout has been refinanced by the holding company (which owns LFC) whom has been made to accrue the high annual interest payment. It's a majorly debt-driven venture similiar to the Glazer family. LFC was bought with borrowed money. Plans for the new stadium has been halted indefinately because the owners have no intention of pumping their money to finance it. Their investment agenda is crystal clear. LFC has now taking 2 steps backward instead of taking one step forward as long as the 2 monkeys stay as owners. RB has been made a convenient scapegoat for all the problems on field which ironically the real problems lies with the owners themselves. Last edited by battery; 01-04-2010 at 05:05 PM. |

Liverpool's new home jersey will be unveiled on the 8th of April. Hope it's nice. For a change, it will be Standard Chartered instead of Carlsberg. Guys, if you have any sneak preview photos, please share here. I remember over the last few years, somehow someone will 'leak' the photos here.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings
Bros, I rather disagree. Wasn't the former owner of Newcastle also a football fan? We all know what he did to the club.
I think the jury is out on Roman still. Arguably, with all the talent at their disposal, Chelsea would have won more titles without his interference - JM would probably still be there, and even if not, the other managers would have had a more time to work with their squads. I mean, yes, we do need a football fan as owner in the sense that the owner understands the game, the club and its history and can strike a balance between business and sport. But he can't just be like the next Tom, Dick and Harry in the stands. There are times he will need to support the manager and the players when there is a slump in form, and then there are times he will have to consider the interests of the club as a whole ahead of individual managers or players (such as selling them). |
