“As for Zoe, she is my daughter-in-law, how can I still let her go out and work, especially in those skimpy bikini or outfits as a model.” Pa said. “Pa, I am already the business development director, I afraid there may be an overlap in our duties,” said Erica. “It’s ok.” Pa said firmly.

Looks like there is going to have a good show in the office. Albert will be definitely on a “lookout” for Shaun and Erica will for sure “nail” Zoe in the office.

The war erupts during one of our normal meeting…

Everyone is happy about the announcement. However, Albert has not announced the new position of Kelvin. “As such, I would like to promote him to the position of GM,” said Albert. Everyone is surprised by the appointment so am I. Everyone starts to talk among them concerning my position in the company.

I am thinking Albert should be promoting me to a higher position since I am his brother-in-law even though he don’t really like me. “As for David, he will be taking over a newly created position of general operations manager,” he said. I don’t know what the duties for this position are until I received the notice from HR. I am very angry and storm into his office.

“Albert, I need to talk to you,” I said. “Why are you so rude to enter without knocking the door,” he reprimanded me. “I am sorry but I want to know why you have demoted me to take care of the warehouse,” I asked. “Are you sure, I didn’t. You are still the GM just that you are taking care of another area,” he said. “Albert, everyone knows that it is a demotion, why do you have to do this to me, I am still your brother-in-law,” I said.

“Well, Kelvin is more capable than you so you can’t blame me, Kelvin is a Master degree’s holder while you are just an A’ levels holder,” he replied. “Albert, you must at least give face to your sister, Mary, since I am her husband,” I said. “I have spoken with sis and told her about this. Well she has no objections because you will still be drawing the same salary,” he said. “But…Albert,” I said. Before I can finish, Albert ask me to get the hell out of his room.

I slump back into my office chair and think in deep thoughts. What have I done to deserve this? I always give my best to this company yet I am treated in this way. Even my wife is not supportive of me… “You are such an failure Tan Ah Beng”
