i dont argue with all the lay-down facts (holding an actual Batam map and knowing the number of ferry companies servicing Batam center and those at Harbour Bay) for the sake of winning,hehehe...and you are right, for both ferry terminal,cost is almost the same to me. Which is one reason why i chose to alight at Harbour Bay. Hehehe...not forgetting,i add my hotel free pick-up service in it too.

And which is also why i ask that earlier presumption question, if ALL COST is the same for the 2 ferry terminals,will YOU go by Batam center or Harbour Bay?

Ultimately, it still boils down to individual traveling habits. Long long time ago,according to what i have read, older generations of Batam travelers alighted via a ferry terminal called Batu Ampar?

Actually, from Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal to BC is much faster than HBF to BC. Ferry trip takes only 35 mins. No joke. But, only 4 (or 5 trips) per day.

Above was tabulated from the Batamfast online ferry ticket purchase system (all tax inclusive),hehehe...weird timing to go and leave Batam tho,but still...its fine for me since the destination would be via Harbour Bay.

And below is the promo they have for Senior Citizen,hehehe...i think after everything in,it would cost around S$32 plus minus (all ferry terminals).

...and i saw one here from Majestic Fast Ferry,but not going Harbour Bay.

Gives me the impression,these ferry companies are fighting for senior citizen business,hehehe...

Not so sure about Sindo Ferry, i saw their ongoing NTUC Silver card's S$10 off promo tho. The rest of the other cards like NTUC card,Passion card and MDIS card gives a $5 off for 2 way ticket, and finally...their senior citizen promo,hehehe... (but you will need a Passion Silver card) Adds up to be around S$32 plus minus tho.

* Above were just notes for my future Batam reference and analysis.

** Sindo and Majestic dont go Harbour Bay.

I am sure nobody will jump on me if I will express openly what I am thinking.

I am astonished to see so many posts here, such a hot debate and discussion, travel budgets compared to the single dollar plus or minus, so much attention and care to save 10 SGD by people who few hours later goes to book a girl (and spends 80-200 SGD), goes to KTV (and spends 30-300 SGD), etc. etc. etc.

I don't fly from my country to Batam for a weekend, but I add Batam after some business trip to KL. I stay out for 10 days. I have my papers to work daytime, wating the fun of night time.

First, S$10 is US$7,30. You reversed the ratio.
Second, I understand your point, but the average Indon or Msian does not go to book girls at Bunga or goes to KTV regularly. The regular cheongster spends quite a bit, even opting for the cheapest options in Batam.
I am saying: if I am going to spend $S200 for my weekend in Batam (not much, including girls and hotel and food), S$10 is just 5%.

However, again, we are all different. Time has a value, but not the same different for everyone.
One can take a taxi from Harbout Bay to Nagoya (30k-50k), another may prefer to walk out and find an ojek for 10k, another may prefer to walk out and wait a bus (2k?).
The last guy may even think he's she smartest above all, because he's spending 1/10 or 1/20 of others, but it depends on how much time and hassle we wish to spend. And if he goes to Batam every week, his total saving in one year will be on the order of 1 or 2 millions rupiah. Cumulating expenses gives amazing results.

PS: I am not a rich money waster.
I walk back to Formosa from Newton, or I take ojek, and I do my best to avoid the taxi, even insisting with the girl(s) who want a taxi.
I stay in Formosa and not in Harmoni, because with the money I save I have an excellent seafood dinner.

$10 is 106000rp which I can use to buy 3 bottles of perfume, which in turn can make 3 ceweks very and give me very good service. Very good return for just $10 saved a trip. For those that go Batam regularly, it's extraordinary return.

Edit: this, thanks to bro NoNo for this tip. I saw it right in front of my eyes how the girls go crazy when given then perfume, albeit it's fake.

I disagree also that it takes 1hr to get to Nagoya from BC terminal. I been to BC 10+ times and all the weekdays I went, it took me less than 40 mins to reach my hotel from the time I alight from ferry. The price I pay from the terminal to Nagoya is at most 30-40k. Definitely worth it to go BC for me. Weekend wise, i nv encountered 2 hours before except for this one PH and the wait at the custom was crazy.

Hehehe...the KFC chili sauce and ketchup also taste quite different from those from Singapore.

Bought a 10 piece pack of instant sambal chilli sauce (below photo) from Go Go supermarket to let my colleagues,relatives and friends try out,hehehe...and if i can win their taste bud successfully,it is going to be high profit for me.

10 piece pack cost about S$1,hehehe...the aunties and uncles tell me that sometime when they travel to other countries,restaurants charge them extra if they want more sauce. This should solve their problem,if it suits them.

Interesting find for me.
