First time going to Richmoore Hotel. Previous reports elsewhere have made it sound like an absolutely crazy place that many people don't actually like because of how trashy it is.

I found the place ok. The entrance is in the middle of a small tunnel going through the building. You can see the tunnel looking northeast from Jalan Pudu. The escalators don't work.

You walk up to the second floor via the escalators and the entire dimly lit floor is filled with people. Men are sitting around on white plastic chairs and women are standing along the walls like wallflowers. I was immediately grabbed by a Chinese WG before I had a chance to see any of the other girls and she kept ahold of me as I walked around saying I wasn't interested (I'm Chinese). She said MR100 for 30 min.

After I finally got her off me another PRC woman did the same. Went to Richmoore for the second time on the same day. Interesting about the name and living situation. Why is Richmoore a defunct name? It shows up on GoogleMaps as Richmoore and the building itself says Richmoore on it. Ace doesn't come up on GoogleMaps.

Pom had posted a lengthy history on why and what had happened to that hotel Richmoore.

Long story short: The building was originally designed to be a service apartment type of hotel (just like Genting Ria) with the first 3 floors set as a shopping archade. The hotel did not survive and many apartment owners fast hand fast leg converted them to residential apartments, with the shopping area converted to solely electronics goods and equipment wholesale and retail shops, thus renamed as Asia Centre of Electronics [ACE]. There was a food court located not faraway from ACE and it was a popular place just like SOS where PRC WL's operated, however the food court (known as Ping Hwa) was forced to close down by the owners of the land to give way to a new row of shops. Soon the PRC's shifted to operate at the 2 coffee shops located at 1st floor. Many cheongsters started to throng those 2 coffee shops and some PRC's rented rooms upstairs causing many existing residents [mostly Chinese families] to abandon their apartments. Soon an "association" took over many of the apartments and started a ghetto with protection and organised prostitution activities which you can enjoy their services as of now. The Hotel Richmoore did not take off and neither did it take down the signages. It is officially defunct and slowly all shops moved out and left only the existing coffee shop with beer license to cater for us cheongsters. ACE as an electronics parts center also kaput and now changed to represent All Can Enjoy [ACE]
