Sorry to hear of your unfortunate incident in Zhuhai.
It is indeed very unethnical of the hotel to claim not responsible for the theft & break-in to your hotel room.

My suggestion the next time should you need to book a hotel in China, do try Ctrip.com being they are a reputable nation-wide travel agency whom I strongly believed will uphold such responsiblities, thus the hotels they recommend on their website are more sound restablishments.

i have booked thru ctrip a couple of times but not for hotels in zhuhai as i have a friend who is doing some agent job there and taking care of my hotel bookings ...
i tried to post a feedback abt goutai hotel in ctrip but was decline becoz i did not booked the hotel through them ..

i'm not sure how far will these travel agency will go in assisting such a case ... i actually called up the singapore consulate in GZ but they couldn't do much ... keep saying i need to talk to the hotel management regarding my case ... KNN ...
