Am going over to Vung Tau - about 130km from HCM. Any bro here can provide some info...

Take a ferry (speedy wan) from HCM ferry terminal to Vung Tau. A lot faster than road. If I can still remember, it's 200000 dong (equavalent to appro RM40.00 - now could be lesser becoz USD is lower)

If u are looking for Hotels, may i suggest 3 star hotels like Rex Hotel or Petro-House hotel (should cost ard $30 Usd to $40Usd )

If u are looking for good clean massage, can try the Queens Massage at Royal Hotel, damage is abot 80,000 dong. only pure foot n body massage. nothing extra!!!

Pubs/Clubs - can try MK Bar(2nd floor), Darling Bar, Snack bar, Red Parrot, Vitamin C, Vitamin C2. Black Pearl 1 & 2,

Discos - can try Blue Moon Disco, *O3 Disco(Near the cable car station in Vung Tau),

Massage - i forgot the name of this place, it is the only one providing hot n cold water BBBJ !!! damn shiok.... located in a secluded area surrounded by stand alone housing.

if u are into Thai food, can try this reasonable nice restaurant in Vung Tau,

Try to change yr money at those Jewellery/Gold shop, their exchange rate is slightly better based on my own personal experience.

100 USD = 2 000,000 Dong
100 SGD = 1 600,000 Dong

You can also go for Song Hong Hotel, nice cheap girl friendly hotel.

If you like italian, go to David's just opp the Ferry. One of the best Authentic Italian food in SEA!!

What do you mean by skill? You offer $50 (1m dong) and they come back to your hotel for the night.. For those bars hidden behind blacked out windows that is (which is most).

There are definitely some girls that don't go with customer, but they'll let you know straight out if you ask them whether they go with customer. For most it's not a problem. There are a heap of bars there, most within walking distance of each other. Dozens in the central area, someone mentioned 40-50 all up around town. Haha I'm not stationed there, but might be in the area (holiday) in a few weeks time. How long are you there for?


As far as the disco's go, you'll find a couple of quite forward freelancers at some of them (they approached my mate even though he was clearly with a bird already). As for the civvie girls, from what I've heard they can be tough to crack. For example I have a mate there with Viet GF, who hears the local Viet guys giving shit to his girl for being with a foreigner, so it can be a bit of an issue for some of these girls, if you're a westerner at least. If they work the bars already though, not so much a problem. I'd be interested to hear how people get on at the disco's though, but I suspect some of the disco's in HCMC are maybe better for foreigners. Just a warning, they can be *loud*, cannot believe how loud. I thought Thai disco's were loud until I went to that one located under the cable car station..
