An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
A few weeks upon Mr Chan Chun Sing being so-called “voted in” unopposed clinging onto the coat tail of the late MM Mr Lee Kwan Yew in TPGRC, he sprang a surprise unannounced home visit to Buona Vista Constituency at night.
I happened to pass by Mr Chan Chun Sing’s congregation who gathered in the playground of the newly built en-bloc apartments of Block 18~19 having a debrief after the visit at about 10.00~11.00 pm. I overheard him lecturing his men on the need to prepare for such visitations like, advance notices, acceptance of his home visits, etc. But guess what? After this visit, he did not visit for another 3 years. That is how close he is to the ground.
As for Mr Chan Chun Sing’s recent visit, surprise surprise, it is also unannounced as well. Seems to me that it’s only for show on record that he did visit his constituency now that the next GE is around the corner. I wonder when Mr Lim Swee Say said Mr Chan Chun Sing is “close to the ground”, does he mean Mr Chan Chun Sing is physically millimeters from the ground? Or maybe he is mentally or spiritually connected to the soil at our feet? The residents definitely does not concur with what you, Mr Lim Swee Say espoused nor felt his presence.
As far as I am concerned, Mr Chan Chun Sing, a highly educated scholarly figure and an ex-Army General, is a man who is not even capable of organising a simple home visit to his constituency. A man supposedly deemed to be the next PM to lead Singapore? We will be dead meat in the international arena if that really happens.
