links exchange plaza.. what do you think of the new rule?

i wonder do any bros here share the same thought with me? after the links exchange plaza got the rule of cannot reply to the thread.. only the threadstarter.. and using PMs to request links.. the section is dying down?

nowadays u cant see big and full movies anymore.. i think maybe brothers here think no one can reply and comment on the movies nice or not so they sian liaoz? i'm likdat.. i wanted to post some full movies but thinking no one can reply to give thanks and comment on it (during PM people will just ask for links.. not much will comments about it as PM is troublesome lah...have to click pm the nick.. den the confirm receipt all) so i think its not realli as convenient as what used to be..

and i have not get a single file from the section since the rule is being implemented.. requested like 2 files but no replies at all..

and dont forget inbox got limit one.. some brothers might not be able to get in..

PS: im not saying the rule is bad or what lah boss k? dont flame me please hpr

yup.. as far as i know some brothers (me included) like people to comment on the movie and give thx.. thats the most we could ask for for uploading for 10hrs for a movie.. and dont expect to PM people 'please say thanks to me after you dl' right?

Agree with sam tat alot ppl just post "me too" (for getting the clips) is a waste of bandwidth..

One idea tat bro suggested..(which i think is good..)

1) For newbies, set the number of reply postings to other postings, maybe 5 per day? For their own threads will be unlimited. Then, they will think thrice about postings "me, too". They would have to choose the clip they want carefully..

2) For juveniles, like me, set the number of reply posting to a higher number. 10, maybe?

3) For seniors, who has a minimum of 500 rep pts and power of 4(or 5) have unlimited postings. I believe seniors have more self control.

Above is to act as a suggestion

yes we have to think for boss also lah.. the 'me too' is taking up bandwidth.. maybe can make something like a tagboard or something? when people want just tag it or something.. and you idea is worth considering too..

but as the member numbers gets bigger.. i think we need stricter moderation.. some people just come here to get porn.. which is in my own opinon unfair to regular bros who post FR.. story and chit chat here..

Hmm.. You know, maybe the new ruling is to minimize TCSS in the Sammylink Thread and save bandwidth. I think this is pretty brave of you to comment on the new ruling. Why not you pm Sam personally, he will prolly read your idea. You are not wrg in commenting but remb to keep it discreet as possible. Your thought represents the brothers who used to post regularly there. Thank you.

yes, The group getting big nowadays, i guess its due to freebies(Clips) some bro providing.. Perhaps in order for better moderation, maybe boss can appoint a few moderators among the samsters to assist in the moderation? A samster knows better.... Isn't it?

i think boss said it before.. not to let samster be moderators cuz most of them noe each other.. and might not be impartial u see.. might take sides

Hi jackylee, me oso the same as you. Me have cut down posting of video clips recently due to the latest amendment of the rules by the boss. The comments (good or bad) that fellow samsters give will provide an indication of how they feel about yr contribution. Hence the motivation gone liao since u don't know whether your contribution is appreciated anot... But since this is boss idea think we can only LL lor.... or hopefully we/someone can convince him to allow reply in Exchange plaza again lor....

As for the big files, I think most samsters are afraid that the file was deleted by some assholes when they upload it using yousendit. This is because yousendit has a much higher change of successful upload than youshareit when it comes to big files. One downside is that yousendit allow the person that download the file to delete the file on the web....

Uploading of big files need alot of time and this time spent uploading is greatly determine by the internet connection that you have. Hence some samsters here will request you to "subscribe" to their "mailing list" and them will pm you the link once they have finish upload it. Then hopeful this will cut down to numbers of times the files been deleted...

Really hope boss will "open" up exchange plaza for posting of reply again....

Bro jacky, Im afraid the lively days of the Link Plaza (or Adult Discussions before it) are over. For bad or worse. Both the limit of replies to the thread starter and the reduction of rep clicks to one are meant to restrict those type of postings.

So Sam will not be keen to consider any way of modifying the system in that aspect. I dont think he will mind if it dies down, to be honest.

I am a consistent contributor at the Exchange Link. Many times after U/Loading clips, which could take hours and posting it to the Exchange, after awhile as short as 3 mins, the link is gone.

The setting up of a so called "mailing list" was to minimised the link to the clip being deleted. All this is due to the work of the deleter. As to his real intention, only he will know. Whether he had accidentally click the "remove" link or he had purposely done so.

As for the new regulation, whether we like it or not, we still have to follow BOSS SAM's decision.

I agreed that the motivation factor is gone. If you have notice, Bro Zhaoxin whom is a regular contributor, has not contributed for a long time.

I am appealing to BOSS SAM (If he read this posting) to reinstate the old system at the link. Maybe with some proposal like that of Bro Hakoshu, it might just work with some fine tuning.

Bro, not sure if ur aware, the problem could be the website itself. yousendit will auto-delete files if it encounters bandwidth problems. Especially for big files I imagine. Has been documented in other forums.

I mean, there are mischevious pple in the forum but so lame as to keep deleting other pple's posts, I dont believe lah.
