ICA: WE DID NOT ISSUE THE FAKE BLUE IC BEING SHARED ONLINE

Background Story: PRC NATIONAL SHOWS OFF HIS FAKE SINGAPORE BLUE IC ONLINE

The Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) have issued a statement confirming that they did not issue the fake blue IC which is apparently held by a young man in China.
Photos of the man and his fake blue Singapore IC have been posted online showing his birth year at 1988 but an IC number of S693118A. His address is also clearly fake, indicating that there is a Bukit Batok Crescent in Shenzhen, China.

Singaporeans who have seen the photos of the fake IC have been outraged and concerned about whether it is easy to get hold of fake ICs

ICA explained that NRICs are an important ID document and any person who makes or knowingly possessed a forged NRIC is liable to a fine of up to $10,000 and 10 years in jail.

The ICA also invited anyone with more details about the fake blue IC to lodge a police report about it.
