An honorable member of the Coffee Shop Has Just Posted the Following:
We are alerted by a SMS circulation among Filipino FDWs with the objective to gather this Sunday to a NGO’s office – H.O.M.E, for the purpose to claim against Employment Agencies whom have provided double contract to the FDWs and wrongful collection of placement fee.
A Facebook page titled SHEG for this purpose is set up and has attracted 14,000 mainly Filipino FDWs followers.
Zero placement fee for Filipino FDW does not mean the FDWs did not pay any expenses in the Philippines. The SHEG’s FB-
https://www.facebook.com/groups/SHEG.MAID.Sg/ is saying it is wrong to collect above one month salary from the FDWs is not a commonly shared position in the industry as yet. xxxx on the other hand condemns some Employment Agencies here of excessive charges on FDWs. The best position to work on the fair pricing objective that we are striving to achieve is the principle that the FDWs should pay their dues on the overseas expenditures, and the Employers should pay us the commission engaging a foreign helpers and local fees as required.
We are very concerned that SHEG or HOME is unable to communicate effectively with the FDWs filing claims, affecting the morale of working with the employers. We are very concerned that their FB calling to gather this Sunday at Lucky Plaza and HOME’s office may even become too emotional and lose control.
xxxx wishes to appeal to your attention so that your FDW will not attend the event, or if the event turns out of control in public places – your FDWs must leave the scene at once due to avoid further escalation of situation.
