PILOTS OF CRASHED AIRASIA QZ8501 FOUND STRAPPED IN SEATS IN COCKPIT OF PLANE

Post date:
7 Feb 2015 - 11:34am

Indonesian search authorities have retrieved the bodies of one of the pilots of the crashed AirAsia QZ8501.
The cockpit of the plane was found about 20m away from the fuselage of the plane and the bodies of both pilots were found still strapped to their seats and in their uniforms.
Search and rescue workers were only able to retrieve one of the bodies before nightfall yesterday.
The body was not immediately able to be identified but it was taken aboard KN Pacitan.
In the past week, searchers have been able to recover another 28 bodies since taking a short 2 day break and they extended their search area as water currents have carried debris and bodies over 980kms.

The plane crashed into the Java Sea during a short trip from Surabaya to Singapore.
Out of 162 people 98 bodies have so far been found.
Authorities have also extended searches for another week.
