On last Friday (June 19), Muhammad Iskandar Bin Sa’at and his two accomplices saw an unmanned delivery truck with its key in the vehicle at the loading bay of Sembawang Drive Block 477. The trio then drove the truck to another location and Muhammad took the opportunity to steal the Ez-Link card which had a value of S$40.
He was then arrested and remanded in jail until he complained of chest pains. Two policemen escorted him to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital for a medical checkup but only one policeman was with Muhammad in the private consultation room. Muhammad took the opportunity to break free and in the struggle with the 31 year old policeman, several gun shots were fired injuring the policeman’s thumb and foot.
Muhammad now faces the death penalty for unlawful discharge of firearms.
