Stomper Carlo said an MRT train he boarded at 8.36am today (July 16) took over 30 minutes to travel from Khatib station to Yio Chu Kang station, which is one stop away.

The Stomper added that the train stopped in between the two stations for about 10 minutes.

It then started to move again, but would come to a halt every few metres, according to Carlo.

"It's now 30 minutes since we left Khatib. The train still has not reached Yio Chu Kang and is stopping every few metres," said Carlo in an email he sent to Stomp at 9.01am.

In another email he sent at 9.10am, the Stomper said," The train is now at Ang Mo Kio, and is moving at normal speeds. It only stopped twice in the middle."
